Register Now for the Oct 28 Tide Mill Conference

The 2023 annual tide mill conference, “Harnessing Tides for Energy and Agriculture,” is only 10 days away. Please register now!

The conference is scheduled for Saturday, October 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (12:30 to 16:30 UTC).

McGoldrick Center for Career & Student Success, University of Southern Maine.

This year’s conference convenes in-person or on line via Zoom conferencing. In-person participants will meet at the McGoldrick Center at the University of Southern Maine in Portland.

Talks include a report about a recent archeological study of tide mill ruins, the history of a 20th century proposal to harness the tides in Passamaquoddy Bay, new tidal energy initiatives, and the use of tide cycles to reclaim marshland for agriculture on Bay of Fundy in today’s Nova Scotia.
The conference fee is $25, payable online with a credit card or by check.
